Trauma Treatment and Complex Diagnoses
Live on ZOOM!
Topics will include: Trauma does NOT equal Crisis. How do we ascertain from a client's reported history whether the current symptoms are trauma related or prompted by something else? An overview of trauma will be provided, to help a broaden the clinicians understanding of behaviors, symptoms and diagnosis choices that could be trauma, or not. We will discuss often misdiagnosed conditions that are really Trauma in disguise.
Together, we will begin to develop an ever-expanding resource for modalities to use with clients struggling with Trauma, PTSD and other trauma-related symptoms. We will explore appropriate interventions for different stages and types of trauma in the context treatment settings, and with the use of case examples, incorporating a strengths-based perspective. Vicarious traumatization will be discussed.
