Presentation will take evidence-based play therapy and expressive arts techniques and provide participants with tangible steps to insert it into their practice to increase ability to access the subconscious and allow for increased vulnerability in the clinical rapport with adults. This will take clinical practitioners through the assessment process to the end of treatment and review documentation and assessment points to ensure efficacy. Presentation will explore therapists core beliefs, personality theory and have active participation requirements in working together to enhance skill development.
Goal 1: Participants will learn how to implement different art therapy activities, such as collage, photography, painting, and drawing, to help clients explore their sense of self and communicate through verbal, nonverbal, and metaphorical methods
Goal 2: Participants will identify various techniques and approaches used in expressive art therapy, including directive and non-directive methods, and how to assess the needs of clients
