Lunch and Learn: Risk Management

Join us for a 1 hour Lunch and Learn every few months and earn 1 ceu towards LMHC License renewal.

Rick Nahigian, a long-time consultant for MaMHCA regarding liability and risk management will be sharing best practices and tips regarding avoiding risk, and answering your questions about risk management.

When you register for this Lunch and Learn, you will be asked to submit your questions in advance. If you register at the last moment, we will not be able to take your questions during the hour.

Along with your questions, some possible topics Rick may address include: 

• Requests for records of a minor client when the family is not intact (more limited as not all counsellors see children, but still very important).
• Requests from clients or their lawyers to write letters for court.
• Whether and when a treatment summary can be produced in lieu of the complete record when a client ask for the complete record (this one is difficult because HIPAA and state law are not the same).
