Working with military, paramilitary, veterans, and their families requires cultural competence, clinical sensitivity, and a deep understanding of service-related experiences. As a veteran and former Army chaplain, I bring firsthand insight into the unique challenges these individuals face, including deployment stress, frequent relocation, cultural dislocation, separation anxiety, grief, loss, PTSD, and other health concerns. This workshop equips counselors with tools to effectively support this often-underserved population. Attendees will learn strategies to build trust, address trauma, and foster resilience, while gaining confidence in navigating the complex emotional landscape tied to military service and reintegration into civilian life.
