Supporting the Adoption Constellation in Counseling

On ZOOM

a Clinical Track Workshop

Families formed through adoption often navigate layered and lifelong complexities that are not always visible but deeply felt. This workshop invites participants to explore the nuanced experiences of the adoption constellation, including adoptees, birth parents, and adoptive families—through the lens of adoption-informed therapy.
Participants will develop a foundational understanding of what it means to be adoption-informed and why this perspective is essential for ethical, effective clinical practice. The workshop will illuminate core themes such as identity, grief, and loss that commonly surface within adoptive family systems. Through case examples and discussion, attendees will also consider therapeutic approaches and interventions that address the unique needs and challenges of each member of the adoption constellation.
