Adolescence: The Second Beginning
Description: Adolescence is described as a recapitulation of many infant and childhood experiences- only in a bigger body with greater potential for constructive and destructive forces. It is a period of time, Adam Philips writes, that connects us with our own adolescence as well as strong feelings of powerlessness and hopelessness. This presentation will include clinical examples across the adolescent life span and explore the feelings that can be induced in the room with these clients focusing on transference, countertransference and working with families.
