Description (virtual workshop on zoom):
This interactive workshop shows how creativity, metaphor, and narrative can help clients build psychological flexibility, move out of stuck patterns, and make meaningful change.
Drawing from Narrative Therapy, DBT, ACT, and experiential approaches, participants will learn practical strategies to help clients externalize problems, loosen rigid stories, consider alternative perspectives, and respond to challenges with greater flexibility. Participants will leave with practical exercises they can use right away in individual, family, and group therapy settings.
Objectives: Participants will be able to: (1) Identify the role of creativity, metaphor, and narrative in supporting psychological flexibility and change, (2) explain how creative and narrative approaches can enhance perspective-taking, meaning-making, and problem-solving, and (3) apply practical strategies that incorporate creativity, metaphor, and narrative into clinical practice.
Our Presenter: Raluca-Codruta Honciuc, LMHC
About our presenter:
Raluca is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, supervisor, and clinical leader who is fascinated by the stories people tell about themselves and how those stories can either keep us stuck or help us grow. Drawing from DBT, Narrative Therapy, mindfulness, and family systems approaches, she explores how creativity, metaphor, and curiosity can unlock new possibilities for change. Her work focuses on helping individuals, families, and clinicians develop greater psychological flexibility, resilience, and connection to what matters most. She believes that some of the most meaningful therapeutic breakthroughs occur when people discover a new way of seeing an old problem..
