Back by popular demand: our virtual private practice networking event will be held October 13th from 12pm-1:30pm. Join us for a lunchtime meet and greet with LMHC members in private practice from all over the state. Registration is online and free for members. Please bring the following in anticipation of sharing: information about you and your practice (of course!), what information YOU are looking for (a resource, referral partners, peer consultation groups, etc.) and please bring: ONE recommendation for a resource for your peers! This could be a prescriber that you recommend, a training you have enjoyed relating to private practice, an organization that provides great groups for a population, etc. We will compile a list of resources in the chat for everyone to share.

You may find more information about the event here on our events page: Private Practice Members Networking Event. If you have any questions, you may contact Jenn Hurley at jhurley@mamhca.org.

As you know, MaMHCA hosts an annual conference every fall. (This year it is in person in Marlborough - see more about the conference here: https://www.mamhca.org/annual-conference.) During this event, we have the wonderful opportunity to distribute awards to deserving Mental Health Counselors for a variety of categories - Mental Health Counselor of the Year, Counselor Educator of the Year, even a Mental Health Organization of the Year, to name a few. It is always our hope that colleagues in the field will nominate their peers so that the unnoticed, fantastic professionals that we do not know come to our attention. Awards nominations are open NOW for review for the 2023 conference in October! Please review the awards descriptions here: https://www.mamhca.org/awards-and-scholarships and consider nominating a peer today!

Back by popular demand: our FREE fall networking event for MaMHCA members in private practice will return. Last year, we had a wonderful time hosting this virtual “speed networking” activity in which members in private practice could share information about their practice, popular resources others have used and market their skills to their MaMHCA colleagues. Join us-virtually-again for a Friday afternoon of sharing about yourself and your practice. This October date will be released soon! If you would like to join the Private Practice team in organizing the event and other private practice membership programs, please contact Jenn Hurley, LMHC at jhurley@mamhca.org to find out more about volunteering.

It's time to vote for MaMHCA President-Elect.

Members, there was a tie for the Board position of President-Elect, so we are holding a run-off election.

    Please vote.

Voting will close on June 30, 2023!

For the first time in MaMHCA history, there was a tied vote.  Two candidates for the MaMHCA Board position of President-Elect received 45% of the vote.  Therefore, we are holding a run-off election now.

Every MaMHCA member will be receiving an email from MAMHCA, containing the candidate bios and a link to vote.  Be on the lookout for this email - check your spam folders, trach bins and hidden emails!  Please reply as soon as possible.

You will have until June 30, 2023 to vote, only once, and have your voice heard.  Please vote as soon as you get this email.  Thank you from the MaMHCA Board.

The President-Elect is an officer and voting member of the Board of Directors. The term of office for the President-Elect is 2 years, followed by 2 years as President, and then 2 years as Past-President.

The responsibilities of the President-Elect include:

    • Attend Board of Directors’ and Executive Board Meetings
    • Chair Board Meetings in the Absence of the President
    • Train to assume role as President
    • Chair the Annual Conference Committee
    • Uphold MaMHCA Bylaws
    • Attend AMHCA Leadership Training Conference

The President-Elect is elected on an ODD calendar year.
